Grading of vinyl
disc grades (Vinyl/CD) are done (mostly) by eyesight!
Example: vg/g means: vinyl vg / cover g
mint the record is in absolutely perfect condition,
maybe still sealed
very good the record has minor scuffs and hairline
scratches but plays with no audible noise or skips,
a vg- might have surface scratches.
good the record does have scuffs and minor scratches,
occasional noises like scratches will appear.
album cover grades
mint Cover is in top condition, maybe still sealed
very good Cover may show slight wear, small cutout and
ringwear, minor seam wear.
Corners may have small creases or fraying.
good the cover may have seam splits, damaged
corners, tears, cuts, big cutouts,
significant ring wear and large marker writing
+ and - for greater accurateness + or - will be used
